What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a science-based discipline that employs various treatment methods, including manual therapies and electrotherapies, to restore and enhance the mobility and function of the equine musculoskeletal system while relieving pain. Physiotherapists collaborate closely with veterinarians, following referrals, and other allied professionals to treat and manage a broad range of conditions, such as surgical recovery, soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurological injuries. Animal athletes, in particular, benefit from physiotherapy, as it can improve gait, proprioception, and overall performance, while also reducing the risk of injury.

With a deep understanding of biological processes, physiotherapists are able to design effective rehabilitation programs, incorporating exercises for owners to do with their horses between treatments.

My aim is to enhance your horse's overall well-being and performance by utilizing a range of physiotherapy techniques and treatments, tailored to the specific needs of each horse. I am especially passionate about supporting horses through their recovery from injury
